“Wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.”

― Toni Morrison, Song of Solomon

  • Hi, I’m Valencia — a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, daughter of immigrants, friend, sister, aunty, healer, truth-seeker, advocate and queer woman.

I believe healing doesn’t happen through talk alone. So much of what we carry lives in the body, and I’m passionate about helping you reconnect with yourself, release what’s been stored, and tend to the wounds that words alone can’t reach.

  • I support adult women of color (especially Millennials and Gen Z) who are carrying anxiety, shame, identity concerns, cultural pressure, complex family dynamics, or the nagging feeling that they should always be doing more. Many of my clients are the “strong friend,” the go-to person, the high achiever who’s tired of holding it all together. Together, we explore the roots of your exhaustion by looking at your upbringing, early relationships, and cultural influences that may still be shaping how you navigate the world.

  • I approach our sessions with curiosity and care, creating room for you to slow down, notice what’s coming up, and anchor into the present moment. My style is collaborative and rooted in respect for your story and pace. I center a trauma-informed, body-aware approach and welcome space for both laughter and deep reflection. I also bring a feminist lens to our work, acknowledging the systems and identities that shape how we show up in the world, and making space to unlearn the messages that no longer serve you.

  • Our first session together is conversational — space to share your story, ask questions, and get a feel for how therapy with me works. It’s also an opportunity to see if I feel like the right fit for your healing journey.

  • In my free time, I’m likely napping, discovering a new food spot, convincing everyone to watch my latest TV obsession, reading Substack essays, at a concert, or rewatching a comfort show for the hundredth time.
